El agente / The agent

Comunicación no verbal: El agente

Non-verbal communication: The agent

Visiting the most striking places in Casablanca (Morocco), we capture this moment. The King of Morocco is visiting that part of the country and for that reason we found a special safety presence. Among the different members deployed, we find this agent, that while listening to its devoted interlocutor, doesn't lose sight of its main work as an observer, guardian of any little detail that could infringe the narrow security siege deployed for such a keynote event.

There are several indicators, however, that the comminicative act does not flow with the case of someone who maintains a casual conversation about daily affairs. We start with the absence of eye contact from both sides, wich indicates that each of them are aware of other matters that require their attention during the dialogue. It's also revealing the use of their hands in this communicative act. The agent in uniform hides his hands in his pockets, showing, on the one hand, the rigidity of the listener with the mind set in it's own work; and, on the other hand, he does not intend to take part actively in the interaction. The other interlocutor, forcefully gestures with his left hand to emphasize his oral speech, at the same time he holds a cellphotne on his right hand. The cellphone is probably the source of their reasoning or shows an additional information of the same.

It's a peculiar situation because the difference of roles in this context and, for this reason, I decided to inmortalize it to study it carefully.
